Statement
The Cathedral Church of
St. Paul,
the Cathedral and liturgical center of the Episcopal Diocese of
Iowa, is a vital metropolitan Christian community. We are
committed to accepting and giving Christ's unconditional love
through worship, fellowship, education, and service within and beyond
our parish church.

Welcome.
The Cathedral Church of St. Paul takes
seriously Jesus' inclusion of all people in the Good News of God's
love. There is a place for YOU in this community of faith!
Worship.
We gather to worship God every Sunday at 8 and 10
am. We are a people of Word and Sacrament, combining sacred
traditions of liturgy and music with relevant preaching. Our
High Street Chapel is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from
11:30 am to 1 pm.
Witness.
Since the mid-1800s, St. Paul's has felt a special calling to care
for those in our city and our world who are in economic need. Members
are especially involved in the Connection Café
and Central Iowa Shelter meal programs and in initiatives in
Africa, in Swaziland and Sudan.

Highlighted Events
Quiet
Garden Third Thursdays
at the Cathedral, offering an opportunity for refreshment and renewal
through the arts, will resume in the fall.
Every
Thursday
When weather
permits, our courtyard is open from 11:30 am to
1 pm for prayer. In inclement weather, our "garden" moves
indoors to the Undercroft. Visitors are welcome to bring a
lunch and enjoy quiet time.
Save the Dates!
On July 11, at 6 pm, an elegant
Courtyard Dinner will be held to
raise funds for the Cathedral operating budget. It will be combined
with a kitchen shower to refurbish our kitchen. Tickets for the
dinner are $35 per person and will be available after services on
June 28 and July 5.. The lovely Italian meal will include
appetizer, two courses, dessert, and wine. Seating will be limited
so be sure to reserve early with Paolo Bartesaghi.
On Sunday, July 19, join your fellow parishioners to watch the
I-Cubs play Nashville. Each $18 ticket buys you one grandstand
reserved seat, one chance to win reserve grandstand seats to a
future I-Cubs game, and brats or hotdogs at the pre-game tailgate
held in the north parking lot of Principal Park starting at 12 p.m.
(Please bring your own beverages.) Tickets are on sale after both
services, or contact Scott Green.
On Sunday, August 16, at 4 p.m. in the Undercroft, enjoy a
performance of "Radio Days," presented by John Wetherell, Barbara
Alvord, Nancy Olin, and others. They'll take you back in time as
they re-enact
stories that families enjoyed as they gathered around their radios.
An old-fashioned ice cream social follows, with handmade ice cream
from Bauder's. Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family.

Weddings
In the Episcopal Church, Holy Matrimony is not just a ceremony of
public commitment. It is a Sacrament. In the Episcopal
tradition, marriage is more than two people trying to build a life
together; it is an opportunity for God to do something special in us
and
for us. St. Paul's is
happy to host weddings for active members and their immediate
families. Occasionally we extend this hospitality to others.
